Meet the Photographer

Hey, my name is Sacha Bronwyn.

My practice as a photographer is rooted in documenting and capturing live musicians, DJ’s crowds and artists within high-energy environments. I am drawn to the rawness of live performance - the movements, atmosphere and connection between the artist and their fans.

Working in a documentary and editorial style, I focus on observing the world around me rather than directing. This allows me to focus on photographing whatever naturally unfolds. This helps me to reflect the intensity of the performance and the emotion within the environment.

Alongside my practice as an event photographer, I spend my time photographing personal projects that I am drawn to either from wanting to explore childhood memories or reflecting on how I grew up around different environments. This can be shown through my “Beyond the surface” sea swimming for mental health project and “From Lynehay to Falmouth” exploring cowboys and western lifestyles. Although these projects may seem differ to my commercial event work, I approach each subject and environment with the same intention: to understand and reflect lived experiences.

Across all of my work, I explore themes of connection, presence and emotion within the subject and the environment around them. Ultimately, my work aims to move beyond surface level representation and create images that document but also allow the viewer to feel the atmosphere and energy within each moment.
